Computer Lab

When Reach Up was formed, we knew that that there would be a need for computers. The students who come to us need access to computers for various reports and to get on-line with Conway Middle School to perform work known as “Course Recovery.”

Even with generous gifts of computer hardware, the volunteers and staff of Reach Up found it difficult to keep students who were using the computers focused and on task while they were doing computer work because of the distractions in the Family Life Center.

The Trustees were approached and they approved converting Room 3 in the Education Building into a Computer Lab. Jim Dawson was asked to design the work stations. After the design phase, Carl Barrett joined Jim and the work stations were built and installed.

To insure that the Lab would have access to the internet, David Muse ran a dedicated computer line to the Lab and then performed the necessary IT functions to get the units running.

The cost was absorbed by a generous donation from the Women of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church. There are six individual work stations each with a dedicated computer.

What a blessing to the students enrolled in the Reach Up program.
