Teresa Thomas was born, raised and educated in Orlando, Florida. She began her career in the insurance claims industry in 1982 at American States Insurance Company. During her sixteen year career with American States Insurance, she took a few years off to raise her children. In February 1998, Teresa Thomas and John Voelpel formed Voelpel Claim Service, Inc. where she has worked since.

Complex Trucking Investigation: Scene investigations, evidence preservation (both physical and electronic), scene photos, witness statements, log books, vehicle, trailer and cargo preservation.
Premises Liability Investigation: Photograph and diagram scene, canvas, statementize witnesses, evidence and video preservation. Review for possible contractors and potential risk transfer, work directly with owners, defense and plaintiff attorneys to ascertain potential liability and damages.
Catastrophic Injury Cases: Fatalities, long term follow through to obtain homicide reports, survivor identification, obtain and preserve media coverage, review background information, and 911 records.
Extensive Social Media Skills: Facebook, LinkedIn, Google searches, online courthouse records, criminal background sites, incorporation documentation.
Road Construction Investigation: Scene investigation, MOT plans and subcontractors, scene lighting, temporary striping, various subcontractor agreements, insurance and indemnification information.
