Work Experience

Personally mediated over 200 individual cases with values ranging up to eight figures.  Supervised and/or managed over 1000 mediations, directing strategy, authority and resolution.  Successfully resolved cases of significant value (into the millions of dollars). This would include both underlying and excess coverage for auto liability (including rental fleet and commercial trucking), homeowners property and liability, commercial liability(including personal injury, product liability, premises liability, personal and advertising injury including business disparagement, copyright / patent infringement and libel / slander claims both personal and corporate).  Trial participation as a carrier representative as well as the handling adjuster.  Directly assisting in jury selection and providing trial oversight, freeing the attorney to concentrate on the trial rather than issues related to carrier reporting.   Over 40 years of claims handing and / or management of claim teams at the branch office level, regional level and home office level. This includes Branch Manager, Florida Liability Manager, Regional Liability Manager, Regional Major Case Unit Manager, provided direct and indirect management of significant claim volumes throughout Florida and the United States.   Team leader providing management of significant claims volume with pending reserves in excess of $200 million.

Created and implemented special programs focused on developing litigation management practices.  Work directly with both staff counsel and outside counsel. Directly oversee and monitor claim trials and actively participating in trial strategy and decision-making. Managed Home Office level oversight for third-party administered claims programs throughout the United States.
